Black Dog Kennel is a small, family-owned kennel located in scenic Carlton, Georgia. We are nestled on approximately 20 acres of hardwoods, pasture, and have a large spring fed pond on the property as well.
We provide an intimate setting so that your dog can receive the attention and quality of training that they deserve. We have all of the equipment, knowledge, and skill necessary to turn your family companion into an obedient, farm, or field ready dog.

Hannah Ramirez has been an animal lover since she was a small child, and grew up around horses, dogs, and other animals. She has been hunting & enjoying the outdoors for just as long. In 2020, Hannah decided to pursue her skill in dog training, after having great success with personal dogs in Hunting Retriever Club (HRC) and North American Versatile Hunting Dog (NAVHDA) events. Hannah has a knack for starting dogs and putting a solid foundation on them, as well as bringing young dogs up through the levels. Hannah has the experience, time, and knowledge necessary to bring your young dog from a blank slate to a seasoned companion.

Our kennel building is a small, home-like, climate controlled building with multiple kennels and beds. We accept a small number of dogs at a time to ensure the best care for all. Our property has multiple large and small fenced yards for play, exercise, and work. Our building and yards have cameras for 24/7 monitoring and dogs are kenneled only when we are off-site or overnight to sleep, just like at home.
location
Black Dog Kennel is located in Carlton, Georgia, east of Athens. We are 30 minutes outside of Athens, and less than 2 hours from Greenville, Perry, and Atlanta. We have access to and memberships with multiple local NAVHDA, HRC, and AKC clubs to train and participate in events. We also maintain a relationship with local trainers & land owners to train and practice alongside.

Due to our small size, we have very limited availability. If you are interested in any of our services, please get in touch via phone or email in order to secure a space asap. Preference is given to long-term training.
